Coastline Automation Ltd (trading as RingCatch) is committed to transparency about our use of artificial intelligence. This statement explains how AI is used in the RingCatch service.
RingCatch is an AI-powered phone receptionist service for UK trade businesses. When a call is forwarded to RingCatch, an AI voice agent answers the call, has a natural conversation with the caller, captures key information, and delivers a structured summary to the business owner via SMS, email, and WhatsApp.
Every RingCatch AI agent identifies itself as an AI assistant at the start of each call. A typical greeting is:
“Hi, you’ve reached [Business Name]. I’m an AI assistant for [Business Name]. This call may be recorded for quality purposes. How can I help you today?”
Callers are never deceived into believing they are speaking to a human.
All RingCatch AI agents are configured, monitored, and maintained by a human (Rich Suplee, Founder, Coastline Automation Ltd). For Pro tier clients, call transcripts are proactively reviewed to ensure quality and accuracy. Callers who prefer to leave a message for the business owner directly may request this during the call.
Calls may be recorded for quality assurance. Recordings are stored securely and retained for up to 90 days, then permanently deleted. Callers can request access to or deletion of their data by contacting richard@coastlineautomation.co.uk. Full details: Privacy Policy.
The UK Government's AI Regulation White Paper (2023) identifies transparency as a core principle of responsible AI use. While there is no specific UK law mandating AI disclosure on telephone calls at time of publication, we believe early and clear disclosure is both the right approach and the direction of future regulation.
